Misc: She married Ed Lelake, another Lancer student; Ed died last year. She is survived by two sisters (both from Lakewood High; Jackie and Joanne Minyard) and a daughter and son and several grandchildren. Her funeral service was held in Blytheville, Arkansas Cobb Funeral Home. She died due to complications from surgery that occurred shortly before Christmas. Misc: Ben lived in Long Beach. His son graduated from Millikan High School in the late 1960's or early 1970's. He was originally from Massachusetts and fought in World War II as a BAR gunner. He was very active in the Long Beach AFT and I saw him several times at California and National AFT conventions in the mid-1970's. His death at the early age of 61 was tragic.

Misc: Rodney Smead and I went to Lakewood together, graduated together and later married. He died from complications of renal failure. A great father to Rod and Julie and an even better grandfather to Adrian, Mason and Zoe. We all miss him so much. After almost 42 years of marriage, you kind of get used to a person being there. But, what great years they were!
