Our 45th Reunion July 10, 2010 will be combined with the Class of '65. Please save these dates:

• Ken Lynch is going to plan a golf tournament on Friday, July 9th.

• Friday, July 9th (cocktail party at Cirivello's sports bar).

• Saturday, July 10th (45th Reunion, dinner/dance, The Grand 4101 E. Willow, Long Beach CA).

• Sunday, July 11th (All Alumni Picnic, Del Valle Park).

Lakewood High Class of '64 and '65 - Combined 45th Reunion on Saturday, July 10, 2010 at 6 p.m. at The Grand, 4101 E. Willow St., Long Beach.

Appetizers - Buffet Dinner - Cocktails, including a Martini Bar - Live Band/Dancing. All this for the low price of $55.00 per person.

The dress for the reunion is casual, but chic. Please, no shorts or t-shirts. Wearing your highschool club attire would be appropriate (if you can still fit into it), or your 60's outfit you've been saving just for an occasion like this. The room will be set up informally with a party atmosphere and be condusive to chatting with everyone. We will have three bars - mixed drinks, beer and wine and a martini bar (ice sculpture slide). There will be big-screen t.v.'s showing photos and DVD's of past reunions.

The band is Fred Torromeo and "The Stingers" from the c/o '65. Bring cash or your checkbook if you'd like a copy of the video of the evening. We have blocks of rooms reserved at several hotels near The Grand. Just let me know if you would like the information about the hotels.

Other activities for the weekend: Friday, July 9, a cocktail party at Cirivello's Sports Bar at 6 p.m. We have an area reserved upstairs just for our classes with a cash/carry bar. Food is also available to order. Sunday, July 11 is the All-Alumni Picnic at Del Valle Park in Lakewood from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Please make your reservations early. The room at The Grand only holds 300 people and, since it's a '64/'65 combined reunion, you don't want to be left out. Mail your check, payable to LHS '64 Reunion, to Rosemary Rivette-Lentz, 5152 Olga Avenue, Cypress, CA 90630-4433. If you would like a confirmation of your reservation, include a SASE.

Hotel Information:

We have reserved a block of rooms for the reunion for the weekend of July 9 and July 10. The Residence Inn by Marriott, 4101 E. Willow, Long Beach, is next door to The Grand. It is convenient because you won't have to drive if you drink. When making reservations, tell them you are with Lakewood Highschool. Their local telephone number is (562) 595-0909. Studios are $109 per night for a king bed, pull-out sofabed and kitchen. Two bed, two bath suites, also with a full kitchen, are $159. The rooms also include a free full breakfast. Reservations must be made by July 1, 2010.

The Long Beach Airport Marriott would not let us reserve a block of rooms without paying for them. You can get reservations on your own by calling 800-228-9290 or going online. Their cost will be around $139 for a king room. It is about 1/2 mile from the venue.

One of the members of the All-Class Alumni Picnic committee, Sally Brayton, works at the Courtyard by Marriott in Cypress at 5865 Katella Ave. The rate is $79 per night. For reservations call Sally at (714) 484-2505 or (714) 827-1010 and ask for the Lakewood Highschool Reunion. This hotel is about 9 miles from our venue.
